The DCA Theater Department will present The Election
Brooke Tometich

The DCA Theater Department will present The Election on Thursday, October 14th and Saturday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

Set in today’s times at fictional Presley High School, The Election is a hilarious parody of the contemporary political scene, featuring everything from uninformed voters to questionable ethics to unlimited Super PAC money.

After an embattled student body president resigns in disgrace, senior Mark Davenport figures he will cruise to victory in the special election, especially since his only competition is nerdy Christy Martin, whose campaign platform is based on giving students more homework and eliminating football. But everything changes when a mysterious Super PAC gives Christy an extreme makeover and an unlimited budget, and things start to get ugly fast. In a contest of who can sink the lowest and lie the most, this light-hearted and zany satire brings to life the ridiculous extremes politicians will go to in order to win at all costs.

Tickets are $15 for reserved floor seating (chairs with backs), $10 for adult general seating in the bleachers, and $5 for student general seating in the bleachers.

For reserved and adult general seating, tickets may be purchased either ahead of time online at https://dcafinearts.ludus.com/, in person in the high school office, or at the door.
