Patton Cook (Class of 2017) graduated from Austin Peay State University in 2021. While a student at Austin Peay, Patton received the “Outstanding Senior in Sports Communication”

from the APSU Department of Communication. He has been quite busy since graduation. He is the Producer for the Morning Sports Talk Radio – 95.9 FM which includes The Bill King Show and The Greg Pogue & Jon Burton Show. He is also a ESPN+ commentator for the Austin Peay Governors Football team and The Austin Peay Ladies Soccer team. Patton currently serves as a commentator for live broadcast for the DCA Varsity Wildcats. We love it when our alums come home and serve their alma mater. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat! 

It is with a very heavy heart that I need to inform you that Mr. Benjamin Pugh, a middle and high school Social Studies teacher, a coach in our community, and a member of the class of 2009 passed away on July 2, 2021.  Mr. Pugh was diagnosed in June with germ cell cancer and was hospitalized a week later

due to a cardiac event that he suffered.  As a result, he was in an induced coma as the doctors worked to stabilize his condition.  Although we trust that Mr. Pugh has gone on to be with the Lord, this is certainly a sudden and difficult passing for the family and our community.  Please be in prayer for his family during this difficult time.

As memorial service arrangements become available, we will notify the DCA community of those details.  We will also communicate further information when appropriate.
