Accreditation

Cognia is the umbrella accrediting organization for the Southern Association of Colleges Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), and the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC).  Cognia accredits more than 40,000 public and private schools in the United States as well as schools in over 90 other countries, representing over 17,000,000 students total. We are also accredited by the National Christian Schools Association (NCSA).

Schools seeking to gain or retain accreditation must meet Cognia's high standards, demonstrating high levels of student performance and providing evidence of stakeholder satisfaction with the school.

As part of the Cognia mandate, schools must undergo a rigorous accreditation review every six years.  Donelson Christian Academy successfully earned its re-accreditation in January 2025.
